BC2 Winter Fashion Update and Patch changelog
By Bennett Ring - Wed Apr 21, 2010 9:49am
Welcome shoppers - it’s time to check out four sexy new fashions for your favourite online warrior. Dice Designs is releasing these stunning outfits on April 21, converting your drab military uniforms into stunning eye catchers guaranteed to impress both friend and foe alike. Along with your new outfits, Dice is delivering a stunning new server browser, and a myriad of minor fixes for the game.

Now, in man-grunt speak, this means we’re getting four new outfits for our Bad Company 2 troops. According to the EA blog post:

“Recruited strictly from other high-level Special Operations units such as Delta Force and Spetsnaz, the Special Activities groups – SPECACT - are the elite of the elite, used mainly for covert operations and other high-risk missions in areas where conventional troops cannot be used.
With the 4 kit specific unique uniforms and the camouflaged SPECACT personal M16A2, UMP-45, MG3 and M95 SNIPER you have a visual edge on the Battlefield, showing that you’re a force to be reckoned with. The pack also includes 12 new awards and 4 Achievements.”

Unfortunately these kits are only available for the 360, at 160 MS points per kit upgrade or 440 MS points for all kits. PC and PS3 users will get the kits down the road, but dates haven’t been set yet. However, there is good news for PC users, with a detailed changelog of the next Bad Company 2 patch, due for release today.

    R7 client changelist.

It had to happen and a sad day it is, Ubisoft have developed and released a “constant connection” protocol whilst playing - as a TPG user this new “constant connection” pretty much counts me out of any game put out by Ubisoft:

Playing Assassins Creed - if you get disconnected while playing, you’re booted out of the game. All your progress since the last checkpoint or savegame is lost, and your only options are to quit to Windows or wait until you’re reconnected. The game first starts the Ubisoft Game Launcher, which checks for updates. If you try to launch the game when you’re not online, you hit an error message right away. So I tried a different test: start the game while online, play a little, then unplug my net cable. This is the same as what happens if your net connection drops momentarily, your router is rebooted, or the game loses its connection to Ubisoft’s ‘Master servers.’ The game stopped, and I was dumped back to a menu screen — all my progress since it last autosaved was los
