This is great stuff guys - it’s what clans should be all about.

My only comment is that I had a shit load of trouble 6-8 months ago using an Nvidia card with 64bit OS (yes it was Vista so it may have changed now).  I tried 10 driver versions that were “64 bit” and nothing worked. In the end I bought an ATI card after I read a post titled (Nvidia FAIL with 64 bit) and have had no issues since.

All that said, there are people in the clan now with Nvidia cards and 64 bit systems I think.

Yep, it’s great to see every one help each other out. My 295 with vista 64bit has never had any probs that I know of. That was a real c__t of a thing AD Cry me a river

Coupla things - “throwing money at your PC” - P3 3GHz is about 3 years old, You are a business owner - It’s a business expense Oh yeah

I’d be concerned why a guy would discount you $150 or 25% of the total if you throw in your old HD - maybe data recovery of passwords and sensitive material (dont do it purely for security)

I feel your pain but you have 2 options - get a console where you’ll rarely have to upgrade and if you do it’s so long between purchases it don’t matter OR buy a competent machine made out of the not-so-latest bits every 3 years.

Either way dont be overly concerned with graphics - the experience between full 8X AA Vs 4X Vs None is there but negligible - get used to playing on medium and be happy. I remember BF2 was actually better playing most everything on low made rego and sighting the NME much easier.

Lok do not give him your old HDD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don’t care what he says, thats a blatent attempt to steal information. List the parts you are getting for us to have a look at I’m sure the boys here can find better deals. Also if ya can buy the parts and do the upgrading yourself, if your not sure what your doing then half the guys here can walk you through it.

Hell I’ll do it over the phone if needed. Just don’t give that dude your HDD thats just pure dodgy.

BTW Nut what resolution does your 22 inch lcd support ?? if its that 1680x1050 one then try and get a trade in deal for a 22 inch with 1920x1080, it just makes things look better and all ya movies look awesome.

^ It’s dodgy because a 74GB HD BRAND NEW is worth about $1.23 - why would anyone give you $150 for something that is worth $1.23 ?

DONT DO IT!

Listen to this man bro he knows. Plus from a purely business view its not a smart move to give away your HDD that may have sensitive material on it, even if you think its rubbish chances are the person will be able to recover data even if you format the thing.

My brother worked for a small company that refurbished pcs for banks and the information left behind on the HDD’s was scary, they would format the HDD’s like 10 times before selling them again purely because of the info you could easily recover using everyday cracking tools.

Get another case then… or better yet have it run on top of your mobo box for the next month till you find it. (use the static bag too)
