Do you save Windows and games on one and everything else on the other one or do you save games on one and windows and everything else on the other?

One HDD for paint creations, the other for ghey pron

Make a windows partition around 20-50 gb and just install windows and office on that, use the rest of the space for games and use secondary hdd as pure backup of all the crap you download.

If you save shit you download to deskop or create shortcuts on desktop isnt that saved on the same HDD as Windows?

Yes into your Documents/user folder (in your desktop HDD)
