Recruitment
F.A.Q

Death Comes Suddenly does not have excessively high requirements for stats like kill death ratio, score per minute or accuracy. Nor do we have minimum system requirements for your PC. We believe that once you sign up, we will help you become a better player. However, we do insist on a few simple rules.

There are 3 major focus points to becoming a full DcS member:

Trial Tags

Use the clan tag of .dcs*. The * indicates you are trialling with us. Trial generally lasts for one week, depending on your activity.

Teamspeak

TeamSpeak is where we communicate both in and out of game. Set up is fairly simple. Click the link below if you are having any trouble.

This is where the bulk of clan communication takes place. Become familiar with its workings and post or reply regularly.

F.A.Q - TRIAL
Q: What servers do DcS members play on?

Death Comes Suddenly mainly play on the following Battlefield 2 and Battlefield 2142 servers:

Another way of finding DcS members is using Game-Monitor.

Q: What is meant by ‘activity’?

Being 'active' includes the following:

  • Active on TeamSpeak.
  • Active on the forums.
  • Active in and out of game with other members and administrators of Death Comes Suddenly.
Q: Who do I see about or find further information about trialling?
  • When you are on a trial or wish to seek further information, the most appropriate person to see is our recruitment officer, Arthur.
  • Any other administrator may be able to help you with your questions or needs.
F.A.Q - TeamSpeak
Q: What is ‘Voice Activation’ and ‘Push-to-Talk’?

'Push-to-Talk' is the recommended setting when on Death Comes Suddenly's TeamSpeak server.

  • 'Voice Activation' is an option in TeamSpeak which fluently and constantly (depending on level) sends what your microphone hears, even when you're not meaning to talk or transmit.
  • 'Push-to-Talk' is an option in TeamSpeak which functions with an allocated key on your keyboard (of your choice), which when pressed, transmits audio from your microphone.
Q: Is there a more efficient way of connecting to TeamSpeak servers?

Yes. Using the ‘Local Address Book’ in ‘Connect’ stores any server that you want to add and join.

  • Click here to watch a tutorial video on how to do this.
Q: When playing Battlefield you must be on TeamSpeak. Why?
  • This is how you make (and keep) friends within the clan.
  • If you are needed for a practice or help in a scrim (clan war) then we can contact you easily.
  • It is better than in-game VOIP.
F.A.Q - Forums
Q: What happens if I ‘spam’ or ‘troll’ the forums?

If spamming or trolling is undertaken by any person on the forums the following may happen:

  • Deletion of threads or replies.
  • Editing of threads or replies (applies to excessive language).
  • Warnings about the incident(s).
  • Suspension from the forums.
Q: Why can I only see certain sections of the forums?
  • Depending on your rank, you will see areas pertaining to you.
  • General members and trialees only see enough to inform them of what they need.
Q: Is there a ‘best viewed’ Internet Browser for this forum?

Yes. The 'best viewed' internet browser to use for Death Comes Suddenly's forums is Mozilla Firefox.
